About Fly Iowa 2026

This year's Fly Iowa Festival is unlike any aviation event Iowa has EVER hosted before. As part of the nationwide America 250 Celebration, the festival will honor 250 years of our nation's history while highlighting the incredible role aviation has played in shaping America's past, present, and future.

Attendees will experience a unique blend of aviation history, military heritage, and the innovation of flight. From historic and military aircraft to displays showcasing the future of aviation, the event will celebrate the pioneers, technology, and spirit of exploration that continue to drive our industry forward.

Beyond the aircraft, the festival will serve as a showcase for Iowa communities and businesses, featuring a wide variety of local Iowa vendors, food and beverage options, and exhibits from organizations across the state. Families can enjoy live music throughout the day, culminating in a spectacular fireworks show that will light up the skies over Winterset.

The event will also feature participation from the Iowa National Guard and the US Army, offering attendees the opportunity to learn more about military aviation and service. Young aviation enthusiasts and families will find plenty to enjoy with bounce houses, RC aircraft demonstrations, hands-on activities, games, and numerous kid-friendly attractions designed to inspire the next generation of pilots, engineers, and innovators.
